Ms. Florence Ijeoma Asher, a Nigerian National holds a MSc degree in Chemical Engineering from Odessa State University, Ukraine. She is an Associate Member of the Nigeria Society of Chemical Engineers (NSChE). Ms Asher joined UNEP OzonAction Programme in November 2002 as Programme Officer, Methyl Bromide Phaseout for Regional Office for Africa. Her activities include managing the implementation of specific country-approved MeBr Phase-out projects, assisting MeBr users to identify successful alternatives and demonstrate how to adapt them to their local conditions. In co-ordination with the Policy and Enforcement Officer, assist the countries in developing legislation to facilitate MeBr Phaseout. Support the Regional Network Coordinator (RNC) in guiding the programme activities. Organise and conduct MeBr workshops and providing assistance in identifying local experts and participants.
