Marco Pinzon is a Chemical Engineer and has an Advanced University Degree in International Cooperation and Project Management. He has been working in the environment field since 1994. In 1995 he joined the recently created Ministry of the Environment in Colombia, and was responsible for the evaluation and follow-up of EIA of macro-projects and for the National "Better Water" Programme. From 1997 to 2001 he was responsible for the National Ozone Unit. Under his management nearly 50% of ODS were eliminated, more than 15 projects in different sectors were appproved, amounting nearly 5 million dollars. In April 2001 he joined the UNEP's Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean in Mexico as the Regional Network Coordinator. From 2003 on he is responsible for the development and implementation of activities related to Refrigerant Management Plans in the region.
