National train the trainer programme on refrigeration management plan and good practices in refrigeration

One 3-days train the trainers workshop for 26 engineers and supervisors will be held to form a cadre of facilitators and teachers. This group will be responsible to train 425 technicians and operators from small repair shops through 3 vocational institutes in 34 one-day courses. 61 commercial and business companies will participate by introducing the criteria for good practice in their maintenance programmes for refrigeration and A/C units. Large maintenance companies (19) will voluntarily agree to keep up with good maintenance practices and improve performance of their technicians. This programme, with the National Programme for Recovery and Recycling of Refrigerant (UNDP), the Project on MAC and Refrigerated Transport (US/EPA), and the programme for revision of the regulatory framework (institutional strengthening project), will form the building blocks of a Refrigerant Management Plan. Once the plan has been implemented, there will be no further need for Multilateral Fund assistance for CFC phase out in the refrigeration servicing sector.
