To celebrate the 20th
Anniversary of the Montreal Protocol, numerous activities have
been carried out by the region/countries worldwide to celebrate
this event and to further raise awareness on ozone layer protection.
UNEP's Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (ROAP) in cooperation
with Ruamrudee International School in Bangkok, organised the
first Regional Ozone Quiz during 20-21 August 2007 in Bangkok,
Thailand.
High school students from 16 Asia-Pacific countries were represented
in the competition, which consisted of two national winners from
each country, namely Afghanistan, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia,
China, Fiji, Indonesia, Iran, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia,
Nepal, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam.
This video contains
the activities conducted during the Regional Ozone Quiz competition
including the Award ceremony where all the participants were in
their national costumes and particpated in singing the JASON
song, 'What's the Ozone Layer?'.
