As part of a Regional Awareness project funded
by the Multilateral Fund for the Implementation of the Montreal
Protocol, the Government of Kuwait produced a series of Arabic-language
television spots that use friendly animated characters based
on familiar community figures to highlight four key topics:
the importance of the ozone layer
dangers of CFCs used in air conditioning
dangers of halons used in fire-fighting equipment
dangers of methyl bromide used in agriculture
Production principles behind the cartoons include
the use very short statements that communicate messages in plain
and direct language, combined with an appealing music soundtrack
to attract attention. The video was distributed to NOUs throughout
the region.
