A
blend is a refrigerant consisting of mixtures of two or more different
chemical compounds, often used individually as refrigerants for
other compounds.
It is important for National Ozone Units to be able to identify
refrigerant blends that contain HCFCs
during the data collection stage of HCFC Phase Out Management Plans
to establish national HCFC consumption baselines. It is also vital
for customs officers to be able to identify such blends as part
of their enforcement of import/export licensing systems.
The following table lists all such blends, with the HCFC components
highlighted in bold. For ease of identification, another
table at the end of this page lists the ASHRAE refrigerant numbers
("R-") and the common names.
