Ile de France Region developed a campaign for the European Week for Waste Reduction, in partnership with ADEME. The 2013 communication campaign, which took place from November 13th to December 17th, was created to fight against food waste. (The average French throws away, every year, around 20kg of food at home - 7kg and 13kg of uneaten leftovers and unopened products)
Ile de France Region wished to communicate about this appalling reality, without making people feel guilty or blaming them. Their only objective is reducing the food waste of nearly 12 million people.
Ile de France Region and its agency Ailleurs Exactement chose an unexpected and funny expression, by staging a meeting of anonymous bulimics garbage bins, showing the absurdity of food waste in order to capture attention. 5 films (1 min) were made, each with a different bin, home, restaurant, canteen, supermarket ...
