International tourism is becoming more and more popular among Hungarians. But a majority of those travelling abroad do not know that importing protected species is illegal and threatens biodiversity.

To inform about citizens’ responsibility in illegal trade of endangered species. The campaign had two pillars. Billboards along airport access roads, exhibitions in airport transit lounges, and information leaflets targeted departing tourists. The second pillar was a broad campaign encompassing TV spots, newspaper ads and painted mass transit carriages to go beyond the immediate focus group.

The campaign generated considerable media interest, which led to further propagation of the message in editorials and newscasts. It also tripled internet traffic on the WWF Hungary site.
