Description / Synopsis

The United Nations Environment Programme, has produced two 30-second public service announcements to mark the twentieth anniversary of the 1987 Montreal Protocol. The two spots are available in NTSC and PAL, as well as HD, in seven language versions (English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese and Arabic). These two spots are available for immediate broadcast. PSA1 is called "The drummer". It is a highly energetic and musical piece suited to all stations including those with news, music and general formats. PSA2 is called "A kid's dream". It combines humour with a musical track and a child's voice to encourage people to appreciate the importance of The Montreal Protocol. In addition to previously mentioned formats, this one is highly suited to family stations. Both PSAs are culturally sensitive and should be acceptable to all markets. Indeed, The Montreal Protocol, is a uniquely successful multilateral effort. It is one of the few environmental success stories. Based on its recommendations and implementation since then, our planet is on track to have a fully restored Ozone layer by 2065.
