Description / Synopsis
The campaign "EVOLUTION" has been launched in 2007 by WDCS along the CMS initiative "Year of the Dolphin“ and remains relevant in 2008. The campaign heads problems dolphins have to face, such as noise and chemical pollution or fisheries bycatches.
Large Size posters (18/1) and adverts in print magazines were broadcasted pro bono and postcards were distributed in Germany in 2007.
The campaign is part of the Memorandum of Understanding that has been signed between WDCS and the CMS Secretariat at COP8 in Nairobi, Kenya.
Dolphins face a huge pressure and multiple threats; "Evolution" demonstrates that measures have to be taken urgently. A website has been launched in order to deliver background information about conservation initiatives and efforts.
600 posters (size 18/1) were placed, more than 20 magazines published adverts, and more than 30.000 postcards were distributed. Webhits increased, and related education initiatives were joined by a large number of kids, teenagers, or adults
