Description / Synopsis

Moving to one of the most bicycle-friendly cities in the world has had a profound effect on Brazilian designer Gabriel Comym, who produced this vibrant poster for us. “Living in Amsterdam opened a new door of consciousness for me regarding the use of bikes as the main form of transport and how it affects our everyday life in different aspects, from practical and organisational levels to physical ones; the well-being and the joy of cycling everyday by the canals. No pollution, no traffic jams, no rush. The feeling that you are helping the planet and contributing with the purest fuel you have: your own energy.”

Context

Cycling to work every day rather than driving saves 124 gallons of petrol a year and 1.3 tonnes of CO2 – and that’s just the pollutants from fuel use alone (based on a 10-mile round trip in a midsize car for 5 days a week).

Philosophy/Solution

Do The Green Thing aims to inspire as many people as possible to live in a less selfish, less consumptive, more imaginative and more sustainable way. Our product is a feed of beautiful, subversive and delightful inspiration made by great creative talent from around the world.

Results

In the seven years since we launched Do The Green Thing, our posters, films, podcasts and products have reached over 21m people in 209 countries/territories around the world. Research conducted by Hall & Partners tells us that we’ve inspired our subscribers to save 2.5 times more CO2 than they otherwise would have.
