Description / Synopsis

Graphic design graduate Elisha Cowins has created a poster to remind us that much of the environmental damage done by flying anywhere and everywhere is invisible. “The idea behind the artwork is to show that behind every action there is a consequence whether it can be seen or not. Everyone has baggage in all senses of the word and we shouldn’t have the weight of the world and all that rely on it to weigh us down just because we are selfishly defined by fast, easy modes of transport rather than those that will be beneficial and less harmful for our futures. Fly less.”

Flying is not only energy-intensive; it’s cramped, classist, horrifically expensive and comes with dreadful food.

Do The Green Thing aims to inspire as many people as possible to live in a less selfish, less consumptive, more imaginative and more sustainable way. Our product is a feed of beautiful, subversive and delightful inspiration made by great creative talent from around the world.

In the seven years since we launched Do The Green Thing, our posters, films, podcasts and products have reached over 21m people in 209 countries/territories around the world. Research conducted by Hall & Partners tells us that we’ve inspired our subscribers to save 2.5 times more CO2 than they otherwise would have.
