[...] the
Business model to be developed has to address business in
non-OECD countries under the following conditions:
- products and services must be priced such that the low-income groups
can afford them;
- it should not be the same products as for the OECD countries offered
at a much lower price (too high risk of parallel import by criminal
organizations);
- the ecological footprint should not be increased.

It is very applaudable that the workshop agreed that targets should
be set for business to achieve. I take issue with the Global Compact
being the venue. If indeed the 9 principles of the compact are further
devolved into 9 chapters, along the lines of the OECD Guidelines for
Multinational Enterprises [...] then a combination with a strong GRI
process would indeed move us very close to an ideal accountability
situation.

[...] regarding para 7 on balancing powers with stakeholders, we
would like the duties of regulators to provide a suitable framework
to be underlined, together with a brief description of the rights
of the stakeholders.Philippe Rochat
