The 2009 Business & Industry Global Dialogue co-hosted with the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD)'s Third Business and the 2010 Biodiversity Challenge meeting (30 November – 2 December) offers a unique platform to highlight the increasingly important role business and private sector play in addressing biodiversity. It builds upon the strength of DTIE’s convening power with the private sector as well as its strategic technical support in the development of relevant methodologies and tools, supporting the overall Green Economy Initiative. Highlighting the existing efforts underway, the forum will explore ways to scale-up business engagement on biodiversity issues and develop recommendations for UNEP on collaborative actions that can be undertaken to ensure stronger engagement of business in responding to the biodiversity challenge.
