The
Global Compact Environmental Principles Training Package
Launched
at the 2005 China Summit, the Global Compact Environmental Principles
Training Package (English, Mandarin) is providing a practical kit for
trainers, managers and employees to improve their understanding of how
to implement the three environment principles. It provides an up-to-date
introduction to corporate environmental responsibility and makes the link
with quality management, introducing the Global Compact Performance Model.
The package comprises
a Trainer's Manual and a Delegates' Manual for trainees. Below follows
the full package with its complete set of training modules, case studies,
sources for further information and PowerPoint slides related to each
of the module sessions. We encourage trainers to adapt the training and
slides for their use. Download slides as Powerpoint files for adaptation.

Previous studies on the impact of the UN Global Compact showed room for
improvement in developing tools and resources for companies to understand
and implement the principles. In a 2004 impact study, participants gave
a widespread call for toolkits on the implementation of the principles.
Interviews with many participants showed that seeking practical know-how
is a major motivation for joining the UN Global Compact as global corporate
environmental and social responsibility initiative. It is to this call
that the Global Compact Environment Principles Training Package is answering.
We encourage participants in the Compact, service providers and fellow
international agencies to make use of this comprehensive package. It is
there for your use and adaptation to your needs, for example to promote
capacity building in international supply chain management.
